Tie Chi serves as the benchmark boss in the Phantom Blade Zero playable demo. Clad in blackened lamellar steel fused directly to a steam-driven back harness, he strikes with deceptive velocity despite his immense mass.
Move-Set Telegraphs & Parry Windows
- The Sweeping Scythe (Horizontal Arc):
- Telegraph: Cleaver scrapes the ground, throwing bright brass sparks for 0.8 seconds.
- Reaction: Hold ground and tap Deflect on the second clink. Countering immediately triggers Soul's twin-blade scissor slice.
- Pneumatic Leap (Overhead Plunge):
- Telegraph: Steam hiss from his spine boiler as he launches 15 feet into the air.
- Reaction: Execute a side Phantom Step just before impact; do not parry this unblockable crushing blow.
- Steam Vent Eruption (Phase 2):
- Telegraph: At 50% health, Tie Chi slams both fists into his chestplate, venting superheated vapor that knocks Soul back and ignites his cleaver with occult embers.
